Aralco’s Built-in ecommerce/ shopping cart solution (August 2010)

Although Aralco offers an interface utility for Aralco and client's existing shopping cart / ecommerce systems, the demand for an inexpensive, robust & "built-in" ecommerce program was overwhelming so we have developed and are now offering a completely integrated system that includes an ecommerce program which directly interfaces with the Aralco Back Office, automatically imports web designated products and automatically exports web orders to Aralco POS Order Entry system.

Retailers can now review their web orders from an automatically generated report and use the Aralco POS to ship the orders to customers anywhere in the world.

We will be launching our new OMS system on Aug. 11th 2010. Once the initial tests for two locations are completed successfully, the system will be turned on for all locations and the product will be available as an additional feature to all Aralco clients.

Windows XP Operating System (July 2010)

Aralco POS now supports the new Windows 7 Pro 32 bit operating system. Only Windows 7 Professional will be supported by Aralco in a network environment NOT Windows 7 Home Editions.

Growth of the Aralco Development Team (Dec 2009)

We have been busy hiring experienced and senior developers to add to our existing highly skilled design and development team. This new surge is mainly due to the upcoming new .NET platform development which has already been underway for the past 8 months and is now taking momentum. We are planning to have a complete new version of Aralco in the next 18-24 months. We are also planning to have an option for a web-based Aralco Back office system.

New Clients Give Reasons Why they Choose Aralco

New and existing businesses chose Aralco POS software and inventory management systems for several reasons.

The Factory Optical Group., Since 1983, The Factory Optical Group has grown from a single store to a chain of 30 stores across three provinces, soon to be four. The company has seen a 2,400% growth since the present management took over, and the mandate is to grow exponentially from a distribution standpoint and as well to integrate itself vertically to a greater extent. Factory Optical Group is actively acquiring existing operations, establishing franchises, is in the midst of an aggressive rollout of high end sunglass boutiques and finally, it has recently opened the doors to the largest retail optical store in Canada - a "superstore" concept that it intends to replicate throughout Western Canada and ultimately into the United States. The group presently operates out of 3 Provinces, soon to be 4. "The Factory Optical group has for some time contemplated the introduction of enhanced systems to manage its significant investment in inventory. The issue to this point during its prolonged growth program was to balance investment in revenue generating assets versus efficiency promoting assets. In Aralco, we feel we have accomplished both" says Stephen McIntosh, the President of The Factory Optical, Optiks International and Eyecandy group of companies

New Objects of Desire (NOOD), a new funky housewares concept store will be implementing the Aralco POS system at its five locations. The company chose Aralco because of the software’s integration with the Moneris payment processing system, said Margaret Brouwer of NOOD. Moneris Solutions is Canada’s largest processor of debit and credit card transactions. Moneris offers a “single point of contact” for VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and INTERAC Direct Payment.

A Step Ahead Footwear, an established retailer, is switching to Aralco because of the level of support offered. “We require very fast responses for frontline staff,” says John Fam, of A Step Ahead Footwear. A Step Ahead Footwear carries over 50 brands of comfort footwear including Clarks and Rockport, the retailer also sells arch supports, inserts and supportive footbeds at three locations.

Lens & Shutter, a photo equipment and photofinishing store with 6 locations and 24 terminals, originally considered using Aralco in the 1990s but was persuaded by Kodak to choose another POS provider. That decision was a mistake, said co-owner Steve Good. The retailer is in the process of switching POS provider. “We came back to Aralco.”

Fashion Addition was born out of a need to fill a huge void in the fashion industry. Twenty-one years ago owners Bill and Marilyn Booth began offering clothing choices for fashionable and stylish plus size women. The company now has 10 locations and 12 terminals and recently switched to Aralco. Why did the company switch? “Reputation,” says Mr. Booth.

Apple MAC Running Aralco Software

AJ Brooks Sports, a long term client of Aralco since 1990, decided to purchase Apple MAC hardware (with Intel Core 2 Duo processors) and informed us that their entire Server/ POS/ BOS Stations are running the NEW MAC systems and run the Aralco Systems with extreme efficiency and speed. This is great news for clients who like to use the MAC operating systems and hardware and benefit from the Aralco system without changing their hardware.

Quick Pick POS Transaction Entry Menu

A "Quick Pick" menu option is now available for the POS transaction entry screen. This option allows you to quickly enter items that don't have barcodes.

These quick pick buttons can, for example, include delivery or shipping charges. If your business sells food items you can program the keys to process transactions for coffee, juice, muffins, bagels, etc. The quick pick menu is also well suited to grocery stores, spas, beauty salons, cinemas etc.

Quick pick buttons are organized by group. Once you select a group, the menu changes, showing you all of the options in that group. For example if you chose the muffin quick pick button you then have a selection of muffins to choose from. If you use a touchscreen you could simply touch the key that corresponds to blueberry muffins to add the item to the transaction.

The quick pick menu option eliminates the need to search for items that don't have barcodes. Normally you would search by product description, number or supplier/manufacturer product number etc. With the quick pick menu you don’t need to search for the product, just locate it on the screen quick pick menu.

Ecommerce interface and Creation of a Universal Data Interchange (UDI) (January 2008)

With its new UDI system, Aralco clients and can have product information, including picture, descriptions, retail price, inventory levels etc. exported automatically in a real-time basis into a secure database (UDI) that can be viewed and imported live into their ecommerce site by their ecommerce provider.

The ecommerce orders entered by customers can then be placed into this UDI database which the Aralco server can import into POS Customer Orders automatically and in real-time.

The imported orders can then be viewed in a report by the warehouse operator and shipped to customers similar to brick and mortar stores orders.

This UDI system will later be available for transactional information such as POS sales etc. directly into the client’s accounting system (e.g. for use by the General Ledger database)

Implementation of Aralco French Version (September 2007)

The option for a unique multi-language implementation has been under development since 2004. Aralco's method of dealing with the language variety was to develop a tool for the end-user to "translate" the Aralco English into their own "cultural" or regional language. This will enable users to translate the Aralco English to their own industry required language (e.g. changing "Retail Specific" terminology such as "Customer" to say, Member Management system term of "Member" or "Patient etc.)

Aralco first trial of this tool is implemented in Montreal Canada where screen displays, POS receipts and Product Look ups are all in French, translated by the company using the system.

Implementation of Aralco Furniture System (August 2007)

Since November 2005, Aralco Software Customization team have been working with our clients in the furniture retailing sector to enhance the existing Aralco Retail System software to incorporate numerous key features required to by the furniture industry.

One of the most important features developed was a “Fabric Configurator” which essentially can accommodate a large variety of product configuration options.

Another important business essential feature added recently is the “Franchise” capabilities as companies with franchisees (small or large networks) require a system that would be informative, quick and easy to operate, all using a “Central Database” for all to share while maintaining full security and privacy for various franchisees.

Other systems integrations are for “Electronic Traffic Counter and “Sales Conversion Ratio Analysis Reporting”.

For Custom Orders, the system has an option to create an “Automatic Purchase Order” to the supplier right from the POS terminal.
